The family of Patsy-Ann Kitchen
are very sad to announce her passing at York Care Center, Fredericton
NB, on July 11, 2024, at the age of 81 years old. She was born in
McAdam NB to her parents, the late Robert and Bernice (Murphy) LaKing.
She and her late husband, Arthur Kitchen, were the long-time owners of
Kitchens Autobody and Towing in Upper Kingsclear
NB.
She is survived by her three
sons, Rob (Pamela) Kitchen, Joey (Andrea) Kitchen and Walter Kitchen;
grandchildren, Matthew, Brady, Courtney, Makala, Mason, Caleb,
Arianna; several great-grandchildren and a brother Lloyd (Lynn)
Laking.
In addition to parents and her
husband, Patsy was predeceased by a son, Mitch Kitchen and a brother,
Thomas LaKing.
Patsy enjoyed working alongside
Arthur in the family business but was also a very proud member of the
Upper Kingsclear Volunteer Fire Department where she was a dispatcher
for 33 years. She also served as a volunteer in the Upper Kingsclear
Local Service District and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for
the McAdam Legion Branch #7. She was also a huge sports fan and loved
watching NHL hockey and the Toronto Blue
Jays.
Bishops Funeral
Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton NB have been
entrusted with the arrangements and following Patsy’s
wishes, there will be no visitations or funeral service. A graveside
service will be held at a later date in the Upper Kingsclear Baptist
Cemetery.
The family would like to thank
the doctors, nurses and all the staff at York Care Center for the
wonderful care they provided for our mom while she was a resident in
the Dixon Building.
For those who wish to make a
memorial donation in Patsy’s memory, the family have
suggested the Upper Kingsclear Volunteer Fire Department or the York
Care Foundation.
