Kevin Melvin Hovey, age 68 passed away peacefully on June 14, 2024 with his family by his side. Born August 4, 1955 to the late Melvin and Phyllis Hovey. Kevin was a talented guitar player, and loved listening to music. He enjoyed cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs and watching his true crime shows.
He is survived by Vickie Hovey; son, Ryan (Harmony); daughter, Jill Hovey (Dusty St. Peter); 5 grandchildren he adored, Ella and Cohen Hovey, and Cooper, Scarlett and Harper St. Peter. Besides his parents he is predeceased by his sisters, Carolyn Scott, Marcia McLellan and brother, Richard Hovey; also his special pup Jagger.
A Memorial Service will be held at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 2 pm. Interment will follow at the Gibson Memorial Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the SPCA or the Dr Everett Chalmers Foundation. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
