Younger memories with our cousin Tricia Morey out in
Chapman, Maine fill my mind and heart. She remembers playing in the
mud out in the potato fields, playing follow the leader, and their
shoes being covered in mud. Another time we were playing hide and seek
and dad was trying to hide on top of the outhouse! Jerich would have
been very young still, but happy, smiling with his little dirty blonde
curls.
During one of our Pow Wow travels he realized that it
was my daughter’s birthday that had passed when she was only
7 weeks old. He starts playing his guitar, I start singing a song for
her. It was beautiful. I only ever sang it once, forgetting how it
went, but thankful for the special moment.
Jerich served on the Mi’kmaq Nation Council
in Aroostook County Maine
He loved to sing, he loved drumming, traveling to
gatherings. First singing with Bearlodge Drummers, then to his own
group; Windygrass Singers, then to Eastern Eagle; singing on the Good
Medicine Soundtrack, and more that I unable to remember. He loved the
drum. In the last two years he moved to Fredericton and joined the
Recovery Circle where he helped to raise money for the homeless and
often visited them distributing clothing food and hope
.
Special Friends that became family; Amy Legere and
her son, Landon Henry. Honorary Pallbearers: Chris Brooks, James
Moulton, Thomas Doiron, Julian Augustine, Johnathan Cole, and Ryan
Adamen.

Anthony’s Cemetery on Wednesday October 30 at
