It is with saddened
hearts that we announce the passing of a dear husband, father and
grandfather, Harold “Calvin” Charles Cooper, at the Dr.
Everett Chalmers Hospital on June 16,
2024.
He was born on February 4, 1951 to the late Charles and Jane
(March) Cooper in Markland, Newfoundland.
Calvin served in the
Canadian Armed Forces from 1969 to 1973. Calvin then worked at the
Iron Ore Company of Canada in Labrador City were he trained to work
security and become a paramedic. Calvin served the people of
Newfoundland and Labrador as a paramedic for 40 years until his
retirement in 2011.
Calvin married Betty
Yvonne (Legge) on August 17, 1973 and they had 3 sons Jeffrey, Justin
and Jeremy.
Calvin enjoyed
reading the newspaper and completing puzzles with his wife. He enjoyed
spending time with his children and
grandchildren.
Calvin is survived by
wife Betty, sons Jeffrey (Nicole), Justin (Janice) and Jeremy (Naomi).
Grandchildren Charlie, Henry, Evie, Jasper and
Jesse.
Calvin is pre-deceased by brothers
Lawrence, Wallace, Norman, Henry, Orville and sisters Shirley, Ruby,
Beulah. Survived by one sister Cora (Harry).as well as a large circle
of nieces and nephews.
The funeral and burial will take place at a later
date in Green’s Harbour Newfoundland.
