It is with great sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Esther Cormier (Sobey) at Nashwaak Villa in Stanley, NB on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at the age of 85 years. Born on April 9, 1939 in Newcastle, NB, Esther was the daughter of the late Fred and Pearl (Jardine) Sobey, of Maple Glen, NB.
She is preceded in death by her late husband, Ernest Cormier and sister, Joyce Doyle (Sobey). Esther leaves behind her daughters, Darlene Allain-McKie (Kevin), Shelley Murphy (Kenny), Donna Tozer (Jeff), and Tracy Allain (Linton). Also, her older sister, Georgina Baisley (Sobey) of Miramichi, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family members. Also included as family are her close friends as well as the loving staff and residents at Nashwaak Villa in Stanley, NB.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the York Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at St. James and St. John United Church, 557 King George Highway, Miramichi, NB on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 11 am with Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight officiating. The service will also be available through www.yorkfh.com (Link above the obituary). In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Nashwaak Villa Nursing Home or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences and tributes may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
