With deep, heartfelt sadness, the family of Laura “Denise” Cowie, wife of Andrew Cowie, announce her passing on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. Born on March 23, 1974 in Fredericton, she was the daughter of Mary (Myers) Norrad and the late Starr Norrad. Denise loved working with the elderly and spending time with all the kids in the family. She had a quick wit and was always ready with a come back.
In addition to her loving husband and mother, Denise is survived by her sister, Alice Calhoun (Dougie); brothers, Paul Norrad (Marie), Ossie Norrad (Kathy); nieces, Star, Jacalyn (Ian), Sarah (Jeff), Anna (Brett); nephews, George (Laura), Vance (Fiona), Julian (Vicky), Kenneth (Marie); great-nieces and nephews, Jasmine, Ella, Addie. Besides her father, she was predeceased by her great-nephew, Thornton.
Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Chapel, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon on Monday, February 12, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Miramichi Valley Chapel, on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 2 pm with Pastor Rick Bruce officiating. Interment will take place in Cameron Hill Cemetery, Holtville at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Mgr. Henri-Cormier Lodge (Tree of Hope) or a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
