Obituary of Catherine G. Edwards
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Catherine G. (Hopkins) Edwards. Born on August 17, 1955 in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of Eleanor and the late Robert “Bob” Hopkins.
Cathy is survived by her siblings, Jane Weaver, John Hopkins, and Christine Haynes; her children, David, Carole and Jason Edwards; grandchildren, Tristan and Victoria Smith, and extended family.
In addition to her father, Cathy was predeceased by her husband, John Edwards and brother, William “Bill” Hopkins.
Cathy graduated from Simmonds High School in 1973 and University of New Brunswick, Education program in 1977. She was a dedicated volunteer for 40 years with I.O.D.E. and Born to Read. She was a second mom to many of her kids’ friends and co-workers. Cathy loved to read and tell stories.
A memorial service will be held at St. Margaret’s Anglican Church on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Please visit the McAdam’s Funeral Home webpage for the time.
