Anna Elaine
(née Holmes) McConnell died on Wednesday, January 24,
2024. Elaine was born on August 16, 1929, in Wolfville, Nova
Scotia. She was 94.
She is survived by
her brother Thomas (Barb) Holmes as well as several nephews and
nieces. She is predeceased by her husband Ralph McConnell, her parents
Wilfred and Hazel Holmes as well as nieces and
nephews.
Elaine was of
Jehovah’s Witnesses and remained faithful to the end. Elaine
was an avid knitter, she loved to sing, play the piano, a storyteller
and enjoyed traveling, especially going down to Florida with her
husband Ralph and best friends Claude and Neysa Gilks. Elaine loved
children and was affectionately known as auntie Elaine to many. She
had a knack to calm babies down much to the relief of many mothers in
her congregation.
A memorial service
will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 4 pm Atlantic time at
the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1045 St.
Mary’s Street, Fredericton, NB. Carl Smith will be
officiating.
