The passing of Alberta Cora Addie Weatherly of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 1, 1941 in St. Stephen, NB, she was the daughter of the late Skiffington and Anna Kathleen (Bartlette) Kirke. Alberta enjoyed going out for lunches with family and she always enjoyed helping with the dishes at family gatherings. She was married and a member at Gibson Memorial United Church for many years.
Alberta is survived by daughter, Roberta Miller (Lindon) of Fredericton; granddaughter, Sara Vink (Nathan) of Oromocto; grandson, Matthew Miller (Desiree) of Fredericton; great grandchildren, Jack and Ivy and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Alberta was predeceased by her daughter, Marsha Weatherly, and her father, Thomas “Tom” Weatherly, she was the last surviving member of her siblings, predeceased by sisters, Juanita Cartwright (Ted), Luella Robichaud; brothers, Arnold Kirke (Laura) and Calvin Kirke.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 7-8pm. The funeral service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 2pm with Rev. Richard Bowley officiating. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery, Fredericton, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
