Floyd R. Geldart
1938-2024
The death of Floyd Ronald Geldart of Centreville occurred on
Wednesday, January 24th, 2024 at the Upper River Valley Hospital,
Waterville. Floyd was born on June 11, 1938 in Synton, Albert Co., NB
and was the son of the late Ronald and Mamie (Robb) Geldart. He was
also predeceased by his son-in-law, Wade Bartley and two
brothers-in-law, Maurice Colpitts and Ken Kanner.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Eleanor; three
daughters, Nancy Antworth (Wallace), Cynthia Geldart and Kathy Nutter
(Tim); two grandchildren, Brittany Antworth (Alex Johnson) and Matthew
Nutter; three sisters, Jacqueline Colpitts, Pauline Kanner and Ann
Mitton (Richard); 1 brother, Ross Geldart, as well as several nieces,
nephews and extended family.
Floyd was known to all as a kind and thoughtful man who was thoroughly
dedicated to his family. His love for his wife and his 3 girls was
evident in their journeys and adventures. He was so proud of his
grandchildren and loved spending time with them in the garden, at the
beach, on road trips, or any where they were together. His greatest
joy was spending time with his family.
Visitation will be held at L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207
Burnham Rd., Florenceville-Bristol on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from
1:00 p.m. … 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 3:00
p.m. with Rev. Susan Estabrooks officiating. The Centreville Elks Club
will have a tribute service at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in the
Florenceville United Community Cemetery at a later date. Donations
made to the River Valley Cancer Support Group or to the War Amps CHAMP
program would be appreciated.
The family would like to sincerely thank the doctors, nurses and staff
of the George Dumont Oncology Ward and the team at the Upper River
Valley hospital for their loving care and compassion.
