Margaret Collins,of Bathurst passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at the Foyer-Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes at the age of 88 .
Born in Quebec City, she was the daughter of the late John and Laurette (Genest) McCrae.
Margaret grew up in Montreal and spent her younger years travelling throughout the USA. After spending many years in the USA with her late husband Robert “Bob”, she moved to Bathurst in 2007. She was very involved with volunteer work throughout her life. Margaret’s love of animals and books was reflected with her dedication to volunteering at the SPCA Book Store.
She will be missed by her cousins, Michael McGraine, and Sylvie Pichette (Regent Michaud) and their families and a niece Lorrie Buczinski. As well as many friends. Margaret loved the people of Bathurst and will be truly missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Foyer-Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes for their care and to her friends Patsy Turple and Betty Peters for their support over the past few years.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. A prayer service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in Chatham, Ontario. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, NB.
