It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Linda Doucet, wife of Sylvio “Yoyo” Doucet of Bathurst, which occurred on Monday November 6, 2023 at the age of 69.
Born in Bathurst in 1954, she was the daughter of the late Andrew “Andy” and Alexandra (Arseneau) Arseneau.
Linda leaves behind her husband of 49 years, her two children Denis (Tara Weston) of Miramichi, Nicole (Kevin Ouellette) of Bathurst. Her grandchildren Emmett , Noah and Alec.
Sister, Sandra Godin (Albanie) of South Bathurst and a stepsister Linda “Lou Lou” Dunnett (Henry) of Quispamsis.
Brothers, Edwin Arseneau (Rachel) and Barry Venoit (late Joyce) both of Bathurst.
Several nieces and nephews.
Linda is now resting with her baby, sisters, Debbie, Beverley, grandson Noah Isenor Weston and stepmother Josephine Furlotte.
Linda worked at Bell Aliant for 28 years, starting as a telephone operator and moving to various positions throughout the office over the course of her career, and forming special friendships with her colleagues.
Linda and Sylvio spent many great years at the campground with family and friends. They also enjoyed traveling around the province, spending time at their camp, either fishing or hunting and creating lasting memories with their children, grandchildren, family, and close friends.
As per Linda’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
The family wishes to thank the exceptional care received from the Extra-Mural Program in Bathurst (Erica you will always hold a special place in our families hearts, mom thought the world of you). We are thankful for the ongoing support received while navigating ALS from the Stan Cassidy Center for Rehabilitation, Dr. Colleen O’Connell and staff, you are all amazing. Special thanks to the nurses from the Redicava Program. Dr. Monique Larocque and Dr. Marie-Soleil Lamarre, we are so grateful to have you during this difficult journey. Finally, to all the family and close friends thank you for all your continued love and support during this difficult time, mom left us on her terms and appreciated all the love she received.
In Linda’s memory, if you’re in the woods and see cans, please recycle, and don’t litter. Donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
