James “Sunshine” Tabor, of Sunset Dr., Bathurst, passed away on Monday September 23, 2024, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 66.
Born Fillmore, SK, he was the son of the late Normand and Pearl (Obrigewitsch) Tabor.
He worked in small northern communities most of his life and after retiring to Bathurst, he could be seen riding his motorcycle. He had a kind heart, was always smiling and willing to help anyone in need.
Besides his spouse, Betty (Couture) Dobson, he is survived by two children: Cassandra Tabor (Gerasimos Muzaula) of Kuujjuaq, QC and
Andrew Dobson (Tasha) of Saint John, NB
Two grandchildren: Seth and Alitheia.
One sister, Tannis Trydal (Dave) of Grand Prairie, AB.
Several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by a brother, Don.
There will be no visitations at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday October 1, 2024, at 2 p.m. from Holy Family Church, Bathurst. Donations in memory of James can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
