STEVEN GEIGER
1952-2024
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Steve Geiger on Monday, January 1, 2024, at HSC surrounded by his family. He is predeceased by his parents, Anna and Martin Geiger. He is survived by his wife of 42 years; Evelyn, his son; Christopher, daughter; Melissa (Derek) and granddaughter; Caroline (Mason). He is also survived by his sister; Rosa Sarkany and brother; Martin Geiger (Darlene) and their families.
Steve enjoyed a career of 35 years with Corrections Canada, where he forged lifelong friendships with many of his coworkers, retiring in 2009.
During his life you could find Steve swimming in his backyard pool when he wasn’t out traveling the world, including taking in the sites of one of his favorites, New York City. Steve liked to look at life through the lens of his camera and used his photography skills volunteering to take photos every year for the charity, Dreams Take Flight.
Steve will be greatly missed by his family who have found solace in knowing he is now at peace. Steve had a great sense of humor, was a great storyteller and had a big heart for animals, especially for his cats, Roosevelt and Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society or Kidney Foundation of Canada.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at the Parish of St. Timothy 135 John Forsyth Rd.
