JUNE 5, 1963 – JUNE 6, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announced the sudden and tragic passing of Rob Jenner, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and son.
He is survived by his wife Wendy (Singbeil) Van Loon; sons Jared (Danielle); Travis (Amberly); and their mother Jeannine. His step-children Jessica (Victor); Amanda (AJ) and Kurtis (Meagan). Grandchildren: Peyton, Jayden, Taylor, Ella, Flora, Melody, Emery and Macklin. He is also survived by his mother, Gladys, his brother Jim, and nephew Jesse. He is predeceased by his father, Peter.
Our Rob, known as “Zammer” was an amazing person. Rob’s qualities of honesty, integrity and kindness shined.
He created mosaic and tiled art projects. His home showcased all the talents he created. He was also a very skilled handyman in that he attempted any home project for himself and helped family members when they needed handyman help. Rob was always offering his help.
Rob loved to cook for himself and family. He was known for his prime rib roast at Christmas time and making special requests for his children’s birthdays.
Rob had worked many years at Canadian Pacific Railway, Progress Rail, Winpak and the past ten years at Canadian Museum of Human Rights. He touched many lives.
Rob was looking forward to his ninth grandchild and would quickly tell anyone how many grandchildren he had, and that the ninth one was arriving in December. He welcomed his first grandson a month ago.
He had a passion for cycling and would ride for hours. He would patiently wait for spring weather to warm up and he would be tuning his bike.
Rob touched many lives, and so many of us know who we are. Special friends at work of Jody, Darcy, and his special mentor and boss Mike. Wendy heard of them daily, and they became their extended family.
A special hug and thank you to the individuals who stopped and provided care, and CPR, until first responders arrived. You’re truly special, and we are grateful that Rob was not alone when he passed. To the biking community, thank you for the memorial and rally, it has helped the family know he will have a voice to make things better for cyclists.
Cremation has taken place, and no formal service will be held.
