PATRICIA DAWN VAN NOORT
(nee Thompson)
September 22, 1942 – February 19, 2024
Patti passed away quietly after a 4-year battle with cancer. She will be remembered by Adrian, her husband of 40 years loving and caring; sister June (Marcus), sister-in-law Sylvia (Brian+), stepdaughters Audrey (Charlie), Joyce (Richard), Virginia; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was born, raised and educated in Nuneaton, UK. She was bright, had a sharp, logical and curious mind, excelled in education, business acumen, loved literature, reading books on far-reaching topics.
Positive, compassionate and always considerate of others.
After coming to Canada, she worked in the jewelry business, then with her husband in advertising/design and marketing consultancy.
They were founding members of the Gilbert & Sullivan Society, active for 26 years.
She put her literary knowledge and skills to good use as the librarian in Whitemouth, MB, where they lived for 17 years, moving back to Winnipeg in 2017.
Many thanks of gratitude to a compassionate and caring staff on floor 5 of the Victoria Hospital and the HSC cancer care units.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
A future celebration of her life will be held by the family.
Donations can be made to Manitoba Cancer Care.
