John (Jace) Kenneth Jago Obituary
With great sadness we announce the passing of John (Jace) Kenneth Jago. Jace passed away peacefully at home on March 18, 2024 with his family by his side.
Jace will be lovingly remembered by his wife Eleanor, children Caroline (Erik) and Darren (Stephanie), grandchildren Colin and Kate, brothers Keith (Linda), George and Doug (Judy), sisters Faye (Alvin) and Gale (Perry) and sister-in-law Dianne. He is predeceased by his parents Ernest and Elizabeth, mother and father in-law Arnold and Eva Leech, brother Lyle and sister-in-law Verna.
Jace spent most of his years in the Reston area. First as a farmer and running a shed cleaning business and later working at Gary’s Highway Service and the Downing Farm. When he wasn’t working, Jace spent his time with family and watching hockey. He cherished the connections he made throughout his life and always loved hearing what friends and family were “up to”.
In 2018, Jace and Eleanor moved to Winnipeg to be closer to their grandchildren. Jace was a constant presence in his family’s life and has left them many special memories to take with them. His presence will be deeply missed but the memories will be cherished for a lifetime.
A private service will be held for family at a later date. Details will be provided for a celebration of life to follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jace may be directed to the Department of Immunology Fund at the University of Manitoba. Donations can be made conveniently online at give.umanitoba.ca or mailed to University of Manitoba Donor Relations, 100-137 Innovation Drive, Winnipeg MB R3T 6B6.
