JAMES (JIM) BLAIR AUCOIN
OCTOBER 11, 1938 – APRIL 29, 2024
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of James (Jim) Blair Aucoin at the age of 85, surrounded by his family. Jim enjoyed all sports, especially jogging, baseball and hockey. He never missed watching a Toronto Maple Leafs or Toronto Blue Jays game.
Jim was born in New Waterford, NS on October 11, 1938, and lived there throughout his childhood. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a young adult where he met Louise and they wed on June 6, 1959. Together, they had 3 children, Darrell, Judy, and Robert. Jim and Louise enjoyed dancing, playing crib and baseball together.
In 1993, Jim lost his loving wife, Louise, to cancer. But shortly after, he met Sandra and they wed in September 1995. They happily spent the last 29 years together, traveling to the East Coast, entertaining their grandchildren and visiting friends at Tim Horton’s.
Jim is predeceased by his wife; Louise, sons; Robert and Darrell; his parents; Joseph and Annie, sisters; Sharon and Annette, brother; Tony.
Jim is survived by his wife; Sandra, daughter; Judy (Dennis), step-sons; Peter (Wendy), Jeff (Carole), step-daughter; Karen (Glenn), grandchildren; Blair (Jennifer), Colin, and Amy (Colton), step-grandchildren; Sean (Jillian), Alyson (Lucas), Jade (Dean), Scott (Kali), Trevor (Raquel), Emily (Thomas), great-grandchildren; Sophia, Morley, Hannah, John and Derek, step-great grandchildren; Benjamin, Sophie, Rudy, Samson, Bowie and Acre.
A small family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Extendicare Oakview Place and The Humane Society.
