DOREEN LOBSON
(nee THAUBERGER)
Doreen passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at her residence in Winnipeg. She was 91 years old. She was a wonderful wife to her best friend and husband George who passed in 2014. They were married for 62 years.
She leaves behind her son Dwight and wife Teri (Nanaimo B.C.), daughter Deborah and husband Mark Watson Warroad Mn.), son Duane and wife Nancy (Victoria B.C.) & son David and wife Christine (Winnipeg MB.). Also surviving is sister Geraldine Twomey and brother-in-law Norman Lobson, plus many, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grand children.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jack Thauberger and Olive McGowan, father-in-law Jacob Lobson and wife Beatrice, brother David McGowan, brothers and sisters-in-law, Lorna and Alvin Lobson, Joyce and Arthur Lobson, Elaine and Erv Lobson, sister-in-law Marilyn Lobson, brother-in-law Paul Twomey and granddaughter Catherine Watson.
Doreen was born and raised in Winnipeg. Along with George she raised her four children in River Heights. George and Doreen moved to Victoria BC in retirement and lived there for many years. In more recent years Doreen had moved back to Winnipeg into the “The Terraces-Lindenwood Retirement Living” where she had the opportunity to meet and enjoy many wonderful new friends and staff. Doreen will be remembered as a loving mother who loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart.
Cremation has taken place.
Funeral and celebration of life will take place July 27, 2024 at 11:00 am
