It is with deep sadness we announce that our dear Mom and Babi, Carol, passed peacefully with her son by her side.
She was born in Winnipeg to parents Mona and Bill Langlois. She is survived by her favorite (and only) son, George; daughter-in-law, Auriana; and grandchildren, Gabrielle, Julius and Oliver, as well as numerous Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and many friends. Carol was predeceased by her parents Bill and Mona Langlois, as well as brother Gary, her husband, George, and daughter, Lisa Ann.
Carol’s early life was spent in the community of St. James, Winnipeg, where her father owned the local hardware store. Carol had an adventurous spirit who enjoyed canoeing, hiking, skiing and other outdoor activities early in her life. She met and married the love of her life, George, who shared their mutual passion for Jazz and Classical music as well as the performing arts. Carol worked with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet for over 25 years as the Director of Corporate Development, where she invested her time generously to support the ballet. Carol traveled to many countries on tour with the ballet, while making many life-long close friends. Carol was a long-time parishioner of St. John Brebeuf Catholic Church where she was the School Board Council Chair. Carol was an informed citizen who wanted to be aware of what is going on in the world. She read the Winnipeg Free Press, listened to the CBC and watched the National news daily.
Carol was an avid gardener who loved nature, her dogs and the culinary arts. She had great memories being at her cottage at Lester Beach with her family and precious friends, George and Joan Matheos and their wonderful family.
We will always cherish her bright spirit, heart-felt advice, loving hugs, kisses and warm smile.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Main Street Project.
A funeral mass and celebration of life memorial service will happen in the spring of 2025.
