With great sadness, but gratitude for the gift of her life and love, we share the passing of Barbara on June 11, 2024. Barb passed peacefully, with her family near, after a brief illness and is survived by her husband Dennis and son Derek (Sinéad). Her beloved son Adam passed in 2014 and we know there will be great joy in their reunion.
Many, both two legged and four, were nurtured by Barb’s kindness and caring. She led her life to make that of others better. Barb/Mum kept the following quote close to her, letting us know she will always be there with her unconditional love, rooting for the “good ‘uns”:
“I have been there ever since that day. They can see me in the sun peeking out from the clouds, in the cool breeze on a hot day, in the feeling they have when they remember me and smile. I am always there, just like the air, just like the water. “
We will hold a celebration of Barb’s life in the future at the Breezy Bend CC. Barb did not want a funeral, but she could be convinced to have a day where we focus on the good in the world. Maybe that says it all.
Please make a modest donation to Craig Street Cats of 16-1421 St, James Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3H 0Y9 in lieu of flowers. This would delight her.
