It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Amandio De Oliveira Sineiro, beloved
husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who passed away on December 18, 2024, in Winnipeg,
Manitoba at the age of 67.
Amandio was born on August 1, 1957, in Santo Tirso, Portugal, to the late Amandio and Maria.
He immigrated to Canada, where he worked in many different areas and built a life full of love,
hard work, and dedication. Amandio was married to his wife, Fatima, with whom he shared 49
years of marriage. Together, they raised a loving daughter, Raquel (Luis), and were proud
grandparents to Amandio and Bianca.
Amandio’s greatest passion was soccer. From a young age, he was deeply involved in the sport,
and it brought him joy throughout his life. Soccer wasn’t just a game to him; it was a way to
connect with others, and he cherished the many friendships it helped him cultivate over the
years. His love for the game was only matched by his love for his homeland, Portugal. He often
returned to visit and dreamt of retiring there one day.
Amandio had a bright and generous spirit. He enjoyed life to the fullest, always with a smile on
his face, and he found great happiness in the company of friends and family. He is lovingly
remembered by his wife, Fatima; his daughter, Raquel (Luis); his grandchildren, Amandio and
Bianca; his brother, Antonio Goncalves (Manuela); his sister, Rosalina (Joaquim); as well as his
nieces and nephews, Diva, Anselmo, Tony, and Celeste. He was preceded in death by his
parents and sister and will be missed by all who knew him.
A prayer service will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on Friday, December 27,
2024, at 7:00 PM. A funeral will be held at a later date in Portugal, where Amandio will be laid to
rest.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice in Amandio’s name.
Amandio’s legacy of love, joy, and passion for life will continue to live in the hearts of his family
and friends.
