Patrick Henry Reavie, born to Donald and Jane Reavie in Moosomin General hospital, Saskatchewan as the youngest of 6 siblings on July 1st, 1962 passed on February 17, 2024 in his 62nd year. Pat was a gentle boy who grew to be a gentle humble man with much to be proud of. He loved wild lands, was the keeper of the last quarter of land owned by his parents, known by his family as the “Black” quarter. He worked for apiarist, Bill Mallot as a high school student and summer jobs. He was a good student, went on to university to earn an electrical engineer degree. Pat worked in Ontario, Yukon, Alberta and Saskatchewan as an engineer. He decided to apprentice as an electrician as well. He found that he enjoyed that occupation more than design work though he drew upon all his knowledge in his occupation. Pat also developed a business as an apiarist after returning to Rocanville and employment at the Esterhazy Potash mine. He left employment at the mine for a period of years to enjoy the honey business but eventually returned to the mine as an electrician. Pat developed some health issues that he struggled to find cause and solution to that prevented his ability to work in his trade in recent years. He enjoyed spending time at the museum, dropping in on friends and their visits with him.
Pat was predeceased by his parents and grandparents on both sides. He leaves 5 siblings, a large extended family and community of friends to miss his kindness, humour, and helpful presence. We will miss and remember him as a quiet, gentle, helpful man with a kind personality and genuine affection and loyalty.
We thank the Care givers at Moosomin Hospital for the kind care given to Patrick, their emotional support and involvement, his friends for their support and visits to Patrick, their help and kindness to us. A memorial tribute to Patrick will be held in the summer, date to be announced. Our thanks to Jim Stinson and Carscadden’s for their exceptional flexibility and help in meeting Patrick’s wishes and our tight schedule.
Friends are invited to join the family at the Rocanville Nutrien Hall on Sunday, October 13, 2024 to celebrate Pat’s Life with a celebration featuring Music, video, visiting and stories shared by family and friends. The doors open at 1:30 with the ceremony starting at 2:30 followed by lunch and a social time.
