Kayla Dawn Lawrence, loving mom to Dyllan and Cody, passed away at Pioneer Lodge, Birtle, Manitoba on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in her 40th year.
Funeral service will be private.
For those who so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the M.S. Society, 1465 Buffalo PI #100, Winnipeg, MB., R3T 1L8, or to Adult & Teen Challenge of Central Canada, 414 Edmonton St., Winnipeg, MB., R3B 2M2 in memory of Kayla.
Kayla was born in Moosomin on April 1, 1984 to Jim and Diane Bowey. She was raised in Welwyn, along with her sisters, Pam and Kimberley. She loved many of the things she did as a child and often reminisced about them. Things like cooking, which led to her a lifetime of always wanting to try different recipes which were loved by many. Kayla fondly remembered epic camping trips with her family and friends, or holidays either out to BC to see family or to Disneyland. These childhood memories are what led to Kayla’s lifelong love of travelling. She also loved the farming lifestyle and loved many aspects of this, from bringing meals to the field during harvest or helping bring the herd back from pasture in the fall.
She attended school in Rocanville, receiving her grade 12 diploma in June 2002. She then attended college in Brandon, MB receiving her Office Administration certificate in 2003.
Kayla spent most of her life with Kit Lawrence who she met in 1999 and married in 2006. They moved to McAuley, MB after college where Kayla started to work for Vanguard Credit Union. McAuley is where Kayla and Kit lived when they welcomed with open arms their daughters Dyllan Skye Lawrence in 2005 and Cody Meadow Lawrence in 2008. Kayla loved being a mom and would do whatever she could for her girls. Kayla and Kit lived in Rocanville as well for 5 years before for settling in Birtle in 2016. There are lots of good times spent as a family such as camping trips to North Dakota, Childs Lake, Madge Lake, Clear Lake, Aspen Grove or even up to Saskatoon to see family. There were also family holidays to Mexico, Cuba, and to Disneyland. Kayla loved to joke around with the girls and always had them in the nicest clothes. Kayla was very excited for her daughter Dyllan who had a new granddaughter Kamryn North Oceane Whitecap who was born on December 26, 2023. She was extremely proud and happy to be called a grandma.
Kayla is predeceased by her Uncle Les, Grandma Jean Bowey, Grandpa Hugh Bowey, Aunt Jeannine, Grandpa Henry Fowler and her Grandma Joan Fowler.
She is survived by her children Dyllan and Cody, her granddaughter Kamryn, her parents Jim and Diane, her sisters Pam (Jamie), Kimberley (Mark, Lennox, and Walker), and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
