Jeannette Anne Barre, beloved wife of the late Romeo Louis Barre and mother of Tanya and Aaron passed away at Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the age of 70 years.
The Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Virden, Manitoba Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Norberto Monton officiating. Interment will be in Virden Cemetery. Evening Prayer Vigil will be held Friday, May 3rd at Carscadden Funeral Chapel, Virden at 7:30 p.m.
For those who so desire, memorial tributes may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association in memory of Jeannette.
Jeannette is survived by daughter Tanya (Ron St. Onge) of Lac du Bonnet; son Aaron (Brittany) of Deloraine; sister Susan Murphy of Springville, N.S.; sisters-in-law Alice Barré (the late Albert) of Winnipeg, and Vivienne Campbell (the late Lionel) of Ottawa; and grandchildren Micheal, Shane, Damon, Jacob, Zackery, Lexi, Loken, Raymond, William and Annabell, along with many nieces and nephews.
Jeannette is pre-deceased by loving husband, Romeo Louis Barré; mother Evelyn Comeau, mother-in-law Alice Barré (Louis), brothers-in-law Albert and Marcel (Geneviève) and sister-in-law Cécile (Arlo) Herring.
Born in Amherst, Nova Scotia, and raised in Joggins on the Bay of Fundy coast, Jeannette moved from ocean to prairie in 1973 to start a new life. Through a mutual friend, she soon met Romeo, and they were married for 49 years until his passing in April of 2023. They first resided in Belleview for several years before relocating to Pipestone and eventually Deloraine in their later years.
Jeannette enjoyed spending time in the garden, entertaining guests, visiting the Chicken Chef for an occasional gourmet dinner, and baking goodies for her family and friends. She was especially known for her kindness.
