Minetta Beryl Reid (nee Traill) passed away peacefully Friday, October 11, 2024 surrounded by her family. Beryl was born in Sinclair, Manitoba October 2, 1937, to Stewart and Ada Traill, who instilled in her the values of compassion and community spirit.
Beryl married her lifelong partner, James Douglas Reid,
November 10, 1955. Together, they raised 4 children, Brent, Ivan (Velia), Dean (Hilary), and Betty (Darwin Gray), spending much of their married life farming near Pipestone.
Beryl is survived by her 4 children, her 12 cherished grandchildren, and 9 precious great-grandchildren. Beryl’s legacy of kindness and strength lives on in each of them. She is also survived by her brother Clark (Joyce) Traill, brother-in-law Jim Hillis, sister-in-law Gail Kellough, and many nieces and nephews.
Beryl was predeceased by her husband Jim Reid, parents Stewart and Ada Traill, parents-in-law Percy and Betty Reid, sisters Aveline Page and Donna Hillis, brothers-in-law Donald and Neville Reid, Bud Page and Bryan Kellough.
Beryl will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her strong faith, and her dedication to her family. Her memory will be forever etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A service to celebrate Beryl’s life will be held at Pipestone Community Hall Friday, November 29, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. At that time, family and friends will gather to honor and remember Beryl, who touched so many lives. For those who wish, the family has suggested a donation in memory of Beryl be made to Pipestone Cemetery.
Her family extends their deepest gratitude for the love and support during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Beryl. Your love and light will continue to guide us.
