Peter Reimer Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend; Rueben Peter Reimer born on March 11, 1952, in Steinbach, MB., passed away at the age of 72, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, surrounded by his family at Brandon Regional Hospital.
He is survived by his children; Sandra (Andy) Loewen, Tammy (Chris) Eck, Jason (Lesley) Reimer, and Quentin (Erin Cockburn) Reimer. His grandchildren; Ashley (Wes) Parkhurst, Erin (Trenton) Schultz, Peri Loewen, Brody (Abby) Loewen, Mackayla (Nic) Reimer, Ryan Eck, Brielle Reimer, Colton Reimer, Jack Eck, Owen Eck, & Riley Mauer. His great-grandchildren; Camden, Jaida, Deegan and Haven Parkhurst, Asher, Hudson and Elijah Loewen. Siblings; Len (Sue) Reimer, Milt (Ruth) Reimer, Ed (Arlene) Reimer, Dora (Bert) Penner, Susie (Ed) Barkman, Annie (Lorne) Penner, Emily (Lauren) Friesen, Gorden Reimer, Jones (Sharon) Reimer, Murray (Gwen) Reimer and Johanna Reimer.
He was predeceased by his wife; Janet Reimer, parents; David and Elizabeth Reimer, brother; Gladwin Reimer and sister; Nellie (Dave) Ginter.
Dad was a farmer for most of his life and because of this, he loved anything and everything to do with the outdoors. Animals, hunting, fishing, music and his family made him happy. He also loved building things, and this led to him working the last 12 years in construction with JKW where he made many good friends.
Later in life dad developed a closer relationship with his siblings, but the bond that stood out the most was the bond with his brother Gord. They worked together, lived in the same town, and supported each other. We know this will be missed.
The celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. To join the family via livestream, please click HERE shortly before the service.
