It is with great sadness that the family of William Edward Steliga announces his passing on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre.
Bill will be missed by his wife Claire (Zebiere), 58 years of marriage, son Brent (Tina), daughter Tara (Peter), 6 grandchildren Alyssa (Daniel), Mercedes (Ernest), Amber (Denis), Faith (Andrew), Taylor (Adam), Wesley (Hailey) & 4 great grandchildren.
Bill was predeceased by his parents Joseph (1987) & Mary (2010), his sister Debbie in 2009, and brother-in-law Bob Wazny in 2018.
He is survived by sisters Joan Wazny, Diane McDonald (Bill) and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was born in Winnipeg and lived there until 1981 when he & his family moved to East Selkirk, MB. He enjoyed riding his Harley & was a founding father of the WHRA. He worked at Allied Auto from age 16 until the 1970’s, when he went to Regent Auto. He spent many years there. One of Bill’s favorite activities was having coffee rounds with friends in Selkirk.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A come & go tea will be held at the family’s home at 734 Church Road, East Selkirk on Saturday, Nov 2, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.
