Stanley Marion Domich
May 31, 1934 – April 8, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stanley Domich. He passed peacefully on April 8, 2024 at the age of 89 years at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre. Preceased by his wife of 66 years, Frances Lillian Domich.
Stanley was born in Winnipeg and enjoyed working. His job led him to Little Current, Ontario where he met the love of his life. They were married on November 23, 1957 and enjoyed the next 66 years of incredible adventures together. Stanley had a love of the water and could often be found fishing on his pontoon boat. He also enjoyed tinkering on little projects in his garage or helping Frances in the garden. He was an extremely hard worker and so loved sharing stories of his life.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, brothers Gordy (Jackie) and Joseph (Linda); sister Anne; grandchildren Terrance (Beth) and Jenilee (Jack); great-grandchildren, Conner and Aidan; her sister-in-law, Donna Scheeler and many, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service for Stanley and Frances will be held on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Home in Selkirk, Manitoba. Interment will follow at the Stoney Hill Cemetery in Elma Manitoba. Followed by a Celebration of life in Elma, Manitoba.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at the Selkirk Hospital for their kindness and support shown to Stan and Frances during their time there.
He knew his life was through,
But wasn’t scared to die.
He closed his pain filled eyes,
His final breath a sigh.
His wife took his hand,
And whispered “Welcome dear”
It’s been so very long,
But we won’t be parted here.
