Lillian Yanciw Obituary
Lillian Yanciw
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lillian Yanciw in her 100th year.
Lillian is survived by her daughters Marion, Linda and Barbara; grandchildren Mike, Greg, Tammy, Brandi (Danny), Jeremy (Karen), Jessica (Grant), Stephanie and Sammy; and her pride and joy her great grandchildren Lily, Robson, Hudson, Arlen, Elliot and Ashton who fondly called her GG. Mom also leaves behind her youngest brother Ron (Charlotte), brother-in-law Bill, and numerous family and friends.
Lillian was predeceased by her husband Peter, son David, brothers Louie, Art, Albert, Roy, Gordon, and Kenny; in-laws Met, Marg, Diane, Eileen and her son-in-law Nelson.
Lillian was well known for her amazing cooking and canning skills. She loved knitting and crocheting, and her family were all recipients of many pairs of mitts, slippers, afghans and quilts. She enjoyed playing Kinsmen Bingo, watching Jeopardy and doing crossword and word search puzzles.
We are so happy that we were able to celebrate her 100th birthday in September where she was able to visit with all her close family and friends.
A big thank you to all the staff at Gimli Community Health Center, Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital, and Gimli Betel for the care and compassion shown towards Lillian.
In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of Mom’s life will be held at a later date.
