Gwen McRae Obituary
Gwendolyn McRae
(nee Schneider)
It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce, Gwendolyn McRae, passed away suddenly on October 18, 2024.
She will now join her beloved husband Garry McRae and will enjoy hearing his many one liners he has been saving for her.
Gwen is survived by her siblings Randy (Betty) and Georgeann (Ron), her children Curtis (Nancy), Macklin (Melissa) and Kathryn (Jim), and her many grandchildren that she loved and adored so very much.
Born in 1953 in Minnedosa, Manitoba minutes apart from her twin brother, Gwen was raised on a potato farm in Wellwood by her parents John and Eleanor Schneider.
After finishing school in Carberry, Gwen went on to Nursing school in Winnipeg before switching careers to become a devout farm wife.
Gwen loved having a house full of people and making sure no one left hungry. She lived her life to the fullest on the farm she built with her husband for her family. She made many long lasting friendships through her love of the farm and her family.
Gwen was well known for being an avid gardener. When she was not in the garden she loved books, music, and especially live entertainment. She loved going out and making small trips with friends and family then coming home to the place she loved.
Gwen would have her home decorated for every occasion and the grandkids were always excited to see what Grandma was cooking. She made every visit a special one.
We will host a Celebration of Gwen’s Life later in the year when all of her family can be together.
