Geraldine Shindak Obituary
Geraldine Shirley Shindak (Nee Walterson)
June 18th, 1940 – April 26th, 2024
With great sadness, the family announce the peaceful passing of Geraldine Shindak, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, on April 26, 2024, at the Gimli Betel Home Foundation, at the age of 83 with family by her side.
Geraldine was pre-deceased by her loving husband Matthew Shindak, her parents, Harley Walterson and Lillian May (nee Holman), brother Gene. She will be lovingly remembered by sons, Michael, James, Douglas, (Nadine Gosselin), and daughter Angela; her grandchildren, Trevor (Mery Anne Sumampong), Brayden, Kristian, Keagan, Matthew (Savannah), Naomi, Noah, Brenna, Braeden and great-grandchildren Wyatt, Maverick, Levi, Griffin along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Geraldine was an exceptional woman full of love and compassion. Geraldine retired earlier than expected working as an employee for Manitoba Housing. She enjoyed pursuing many hobbies, crafting, stain glass design, landscape design of gardens and flower beds. She was best known for her passion for the Royal Family memorabilia and her collection of Avon antiques, Angels, and the love of music and dance.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful staff at the Gimli Betel Home Foundation.
Family and friends are invited to attend the graveside service at St. Clements Cemetery at 7th St. Clement Drive in St. Andrew’s on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 1:00 pm. If the weather is poor the service will be inside the St. Clement’s Church.
