Blair Burnett Obituary
Archie Lyman Blair Burnett
With broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather Archie Lyman Blair Burnett, aged 80, suddenly on April 18, 2024.
Blair leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him. He is survived by his children Shannon (Cal Doudiet) and Jeff (Audra) Burnett and his step-children whom he embraced as his own, Ryan (Ashley) Howanyk and Lindsay Howanyk. His memory will also be treasured by his granddaughters Katelyn Doudiet, Amy (Kim Wildhaber), step-grandchildren Isabella and Adelynne, Nevin and Grayson.
A true gentleman in every sense, Blair touched the lives of many with his genuine interest in others. He truly enjoyed the art of conversation and engaged with everyone with whom he spoke.
As a Certified General Accountant (CGA), Blair devoted his professional life to excellence, working diligently for Dun & Bradstreet, Furniture West, and later establishing his own successful venture, Selkirk Office Services, alongside his ex-wife Pauline Lomax.
Blair was committed to his work and his loyalty to his clients was evident in the relationships he maintained, as he was still working for a few until the very end.
Beyond his professional endeavours, Blair was an avid sports enthusiast from a young age participating in football, baseball and curling. His passion for sports continued throughout his life. Dad enjoyed coaching his children in various sports and Papa found immense joy in cheering on his grandchildren from the sidelines in countless games over the years.
In his passing we mourn the loss of our hero, mentor and friend. Though our hearts ache with grief we take solace in the memories we shared and the profound impact Blair had on our lives. His sprit will forever guide us reminding us to approach each day with the same warmth and generosity that defined his character. Blair’s legacy of love will endure a beacon of light in the darkness guiding us in the days ahead.
As our steadfast champion, Dad instilled in us the values of kindness, compassion and selflessness leaving an indelible mark on our hearts that we will carry forever.
I think we are up to speed for now. Talk soon.
As per his wishes cremation has taken place, no service will be held.
