Theresa Lillian Placktis (nee Forest)
February 5, 1932 – April 27, 2024
After a short illness succumbed on Friday last. She was predeceased by her parents Aurelia (Hamel) and Theophile Forest, husband Paul, daughter Kathleen, sister Georgette (and Ian) brothers Lionel, Edward, David, Danny and Phil (Doris) Brother in law Alfie (Bea), sisters in law Ann (Harry), Connie (Abraham), Isabelle and Jeny; nephew Jeffrey.
Left to mourn are sons Alan (Margaret) Charles, and Alfie (Allison); brother Roger; sisters in law Arlene, Joanne and Sherry; brother in law George; Grandchildren, Ryan, Megan, Casey, Harvey and Robin. Nephews, Brad, Stephen, Mathew, Greg, David, Phil, Edward, Bryan, and Michael. Nieces, Katie, Annette, Laura, Amber, Dana, Laurie and Gloria as well as her unofficial daughters Alison Kalischuk and Karen Hanuschak-Williamson and unofficial sons Ralph MacKelvie and Reed Davies.
Terry was born in St .Boniface during the depression. The oldest of seven children her life was family and work. She was an amazing woman having worked most of her 92 years in and around Winnipeg. She worked mostly at Swifts Canada and P&H Ltd, and a host of other work places in between. In her early years she became an accomplished curler and into retirement a prolific bingo player. As a mother and grandmother she was second to none! She loved to organize parties and cooking was a passion. Her holiday dinners were legendary! She loved and was devoted to her husband Paul and family. Terry was a cat person, her last cat Tinker (seal mitten ragdoll) of 20 years passed a few weeks before her. She loved Tinker more than words can say for all those years. Terry was loved and cherished by all who knew her.
Cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Donations may be made in memory of Terry to CancerCare Manitoba.
