Jake passed away peacefully on April 25, 2024 at the Morris hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 80 years young.
He is survived by his wife Trudy, children Colleen (Ron), Leroy (Kristi), Beverly (Travis), Melissa (Corey), grandchildren Kayla (Jordan), Brett (Alysa), Declan, Lexi, Efrem, Lars, great granddaughters Sophia and Oceane.
Jake is predeceased by both parents Abram and Marie, older brothers John and Abe and sister Eva.
Jacob was best known for his excellence in finish carpentry as a contractor for Qualico Homes in Winnipeg. A skill he honed with countless hours helping his children with projects in their homes. He loved spending time on the yard and garden in Rudnerwiede but favorite hobbies included horses and fishing.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday May 1, 2024 at 2 pm and the EMM Church in Altona.
Viewing will be held at The Morris Funeral Home on Monday April 29 and Tuesday April 30 from noon – 7 pm.
A private family interment will take place at the Rudnerwiede Cemetery prior to the Celebration of Life at the EMMC.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nursing staff at both the St. Boniface and Morris hospitals for the wonderful care they extended to Dad.
