In loving memory of Clay Neboi Wabishkwa Makwa Inini, born August 4, 1990, Portage la Prairie Manitoba passed away November 10, 2024, in Winnipeg Manitoba.
Wake Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 4 PM at Sandy Bay community complex. Funeral service Wednesday, November 20, 2024, 2PM with Father, Leo Fernandez officiating. Interment to take place at Sandy Bay cemetery.

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved, Clay. He entered this world on a beautiful summer day on August 4, 1990, and left us so suddenly November 10, 2024, to begin his journey to the spirit world.
He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Frederick Zebrasky and Audrey Richard, uncle Harvey Popien, cousin John John Richard and his paternal grandparents, Howard and Doris Starr, uncle Freddie Starr, cousins Mandy and Renata Beaulieu.
Clay leaves to cherish his memory his son, Clay Starr Jr. whom he loved with all his heart, his fiancé, Judith McIvor; and his babies Sherise, Shayne, Sharlie, and Shenoah; his parents, Mervin and Sylvia Starr; siblings, Rebecca, Mervin Jr. (Angel) Lewis, (Britney) Emma, (Lloyd); aunties, uncles, cousins, friends and nieces and nephews.
Clay was the baby of the family. At a young age Clay always showed his love for nature. He loved providing for the family by hunting and fishing and ice fishing in the winter. Mom would drive him down the back roads to hunt. He enjoyed his rides with Mom. He was always a jokester. He was grandma ‘s little helper and the best juice maker.
In his adolescence years, Clay became a father to Baby Clay. He was so very proud of his son. Clay was kind at heart, humble in spirit, very patient, gentle, generous, and intelligent. He had a way, of drawing out by means of encouragement with the absolute best sense of humour. He had a deep devotion to his family. Clay had big dreams.
He obtained his GED while he was incarcerated. Our parents kept pushing him telling him how important it was to get his education. He wanted to take as many trades, including auto technician and culinary arts. He loved cooking and was working towards getting his license. He was looking forward to applying to get his welder’s ticket.
More recently, Clay enjoyed his evening drives in his Durango. During those evening drives, Clay would visit the unsheltered community and share stories and other words of encouragement to others, calling every single woman he met beautiful boosting their self-esteem and confidence. Clay was such a positive vibe and a great support.
He loved being outdoors, swimming, quadding, fixing cars, anything to keep him busy. Clay listened to all genres of music and was always singing to the love of his life and especially teasing her. He was the strongest we knew with his protective instincts. Clay was the kind of person who would turn your bad day into a good one and had a light about him that when you were in his presence you would see him glow.
His smile was one-of-a-kind. We are privileged to have had him in our lives as long as we did, and he will forever be in our hearts, because in there he remains alive, we will miss you, Clay!
