The death occurred at the Margaret Stewart Ellis Home,
O’Leary on Saturday, May 11, 2024 of Newton Beecher Harris
formerly of Howlan aged 93, beloved husband of the late Elva
(Crossman) Harris. Newton was born in Knutsford on June 22, 1930, son
of the late Truman & Vera (Sweet) Harris.
Cherished dad to Thelma (Gordon ) Lidstone and Elaine
McInnis.
Loving Pappie to Eric (Tracey) Lidstone, Angel
(Billy) Gillis, Lori (Jeff) MacKendrick, Lindsay (Bailey) Lidstone,
Adam (Maela) McInnis, Chelsey (Matthew) Gallant, Kaitlin McInnis,
Jordan McInnis (Kelsey), Great Pappie to Michael, JJ, Ashley, Kaylee,
Samantha, Jackson, Logan, Sophie, Keegan, Kendall, Elizabeth, Ria,
Seger, Tyse, Bennet, Zachary, Oliver, Addison, Noah, Isaac, Henry,
Eliza, Arielle, Emmett and Elowyn. Great great Pappie to Abigail and
Aspen.
Brother to Lois (Don) MacDonald, brother in law to Florence
Harris and Chippy Harris. Newton is also survived by a special niece
Charlotte Lidstone along with several other nieces and
nephews.
Newton was predeceased by his parents, wife Elva, daughter
Deborah, granddaughter Jodi, brothers Alton, Ralph, Evan, sisters
Maude Smith, Jennie Betts, Amy Gray and Sarah Pelkey.
Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel with visiting
hours on Wednesday afternoon from 1:30pm till 2:45pm followed by the
service in the Chapel at 3pm. Interment to follow in the Springfield
West Baptist Cemetery.
