The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family
at the Palliative Care Unit of Community Hospital,
O’Leary, on Sunday, October 13, 2024, of James
Urban Paugh, Piusville, formerly of Woodstock, aged 56.
Beloved partner of Nancy Graham (nee Shea). James was born in
O’Leary on July 6, 1968, son of the late Donnie
and Ethel Paugh (nee Rayner)
James lived his life as a hard-working fisherman who was the
captain of not only his
boat, but of his
grandchildren’s lives. He loved the sea, but possibly his
Fords more. He enjoyed making seafood chowders, travelling
with his beloved partner, spending time with his family, and
spoiling his beloved pets, even the wild ones.
Devoted Stepfather to Cody (Paige) and Brandon
(Bailey). Lovingly Remembered as “Grampie James” to
Bella, Hudson, Abbie-Lynn, Beau, and Brinley. Dear
brother to Sterling Paugh, Kathy Paugh, Joan (David) Gorrill, and
Eugene Paugh.
He is survived by his aunts and uncles, father and mother in
law Albert and Carmen Shea, sisters in law Marlene (Hughie)
and Jonie (Blayne). Cherished Uncle to Amanda, Aaron, Nathan,
Lexy, Ella, Ava, and Mary Jane.
James was predeceased his parents, Donnie and Ethel Paugh,
and brother-in-law
Gene Gallant and his favorite cat,
Sooky.
Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary with
visiting hours Wednesday 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Celebration of life service
for James in the Chapel on Thursday morning at 11:00 am. Interment to
follow in the West Devon United Church Cemetery.
