Pius passed away surrounded by his family and partner on February 2, 2024.
Loving father to Olivia (Rory) and Arlena (Garth) and grandpa to Robin. Pius will be remembered fondly by all his many friends and family in Whitehorse, Yukon, California and Switzerland.
Pius was born in Basel, Switzerland on January 13, 1952. He spent his childhood on the family farm, and had a great passion for horses and show jumping. In January of 1991, Pius moved his family from Switzerland to Whitehorse, where he made his home out at Marsh Lake for the following 33 years. He worked for Golden Hill Ventures/Cobalt Construction and retired in 2016. He spent the last 10 years with his partner, Ursula, traveling between her home in southern California and the Yukon. Pius enjoyed traveling, working outside, helping friends and neighbours, and time with family.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 10, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Marsh Lake Community Centre.
