Born on May 11th, 1946, in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Phyllis passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on June 8th, 2024. Predeceased by her mother, Theresa Jackson, in 2007, Phyllis will be profoundly missed by her son Byron, daughter-in-law Natasha, and granddaughter Noémie, as well as her siblings Garnet (Gale), Harley (Ann), Ron (Maria), Gerry (Julie), Mary (Norm), Chris (Carla), and Terry (Rhonda). She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Nieces Janna and Katie cherished a deep bond with their beloved Aunt Phyllis, finding solace, guidance, and endless laughter in her comforting presence. Phyllis was more than just a beloved family member; she was a source of strength for family and friends. Phyllis’s compassion shone brightly as she, alongside her mother Theresa, dedicated over 30 years to caring for special needs adults as certified caregivers, leaving a legacy of kindness and empathy. Phyllis dedicated numerous years to serving as an executive assistant in the BC legislature until her retirement in 2001.
A celebration of Phyllis’s life was held on June 15th, 2024, honoring her memory and the cherished moments shared with close friends and family. Special thanks to the staff at the Royal Jubilee Hospital for their exceptional care and kindness.
