After a life well lived, Marny, Marjory Ellen Lye (nee McCallum), died peacefully on Friday November 22. She is predeceased by her husband Bob, stepsister Bobbi (Roberta Shute) and stepbrother Richard Baty. She will be forever missed by her children Karen Falls (Tom), David Lye (Carol Masters) and Paul Lye, her grandchildren Karrie Falls, Tomas Lye (Diana), Daniela Lye (Victor), Jillian (Shane) and great-grandchildren Gabriel and Adia.
Marny was a graduate of the University of Toronto. She worked as a dietician at the Arcadian Court in Toronto before she and Bob moved to Hamilton and then to Burlington in 1952. They had many good friends in Burlington both on and off the golf course. In 1989 they moved to Arbutus Ridge, a retirement community on Vancouver Island on a golf course and over-looking Salt Spring Island. They made many great friends at Arbutus Ridge. Bob died in 2011 and Marny decided to sell their house and move to Norgarden in Sidney B.C. There she made more good friends with both residents and staff. She was there until a few days prior to her death.
Thanks to the Victoria General Hospital and the Saanich Peninsula Hospital for their compassionate care. A special thanks to amazing staff of Norgarden and her care-givers who made it possible for her to stay in her home for over 13 years.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
