With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jacob Edward Mein, who left us unexpectedly on Monday, September 16, 2024, in Vancouver, B.C., at the age of 41. Born on April 28, 1983, in North Vancouver, Jacob brought an unforgettable spirit into the world. Known for his humor, his straightforward honesty, his fierce loyalty, and his good heart, Jacob faced life with strength and resilience that inspired all who knew him. His one-of-a-kind soul left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to share in his journey.
Jacob is survived by Karen Lane, Lou Mein, Cameron, Joseph Lane, Melisa Mein, Monica Mein, Mandy Lane, Kyra O’Riordan, George, Lealdon, Janice, Erin Newton, and his cousins Darian, Ayshia, Danae, Anya, Dante, Daylin, and Mallory Newton. His memory will live on in the hearts of his nieces and nephews—Tanaya, Tauren, Dreyden, Daxxstynn, Nrvaanuh, Zayden, Ariella, Treysen, Terrance,
Jackson, and Levi—and cherished friends and chosen family: Darren, Tyson, Taz, Chris, Bree, Matthew, and “Mother Hen” Bonnie.
Jacob’s unapologetic spirit, boundless love, and genuine loyalty will remain a lasting legacy. He reminded us all to live honestly, laugh deeply, and hold tightly to those we love.
Jacob has been cremated, and a celebration of his life will be held in the coming months. This time will allow his family to gather strength and prepare to honor him with the heartfelt tribute he deserves. The details for this celebration—including the date, time, and location—will be shared soon with family
and friends.
