It is with Heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Evelyn Wayland Pinkerton, beloved sister, aunt, Godmother, partner, cherished friend and college to many.
Evelyn retired as Professor Emeritus in Resource Management and Environmental Management from Simon Fraser University. Her work focused on developing the theory and practice of power-sharing and stewardship through co-management agreements.
As well as her many academic achievements, Evelyn loved to sing and play folk music, recently performing with her partner Terry at the “Edge of the World Music Festival” in Haida Gwaii.
She is remembered for her caring Intelligence, southern grace and her radiant smile. She nourished the hearts and souls of many singers, musicians, seekers for justice and those in need of a friend or place to stay.
