Obituary for Carsten Frandsen
January 11, 1948 – November 13, 2024
It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carsten Frandsen on November 13, 2024. He was born on January 11, 1948 in Denmark. Carstenlived a very happy and fulfilling life where he split his final 15 years between his two favourite places; his home in Vancouver, Canada and his second home in Phla Beach, Baan Chang, Thailand.
Carsten was predeceased by his parents Jens and Edith Frandsen. He is deeply missed and survived by his wife
Nittaya, his daughter Ingrid (Daryle), his step sons Mongkol(Sujittra) and Chanachai(Pafun), his grandchildren Kirsten, Chris (Brianna), and Worasit and his first great grandchild, Lyla. He is also survived by his brothers John (Warunee), Gordon (Denise), Bruce (Laura), nieces and nephew, his ‘assumed’ daughter Melissa, and many close friends who he loved dearly.
In his younger years, Carsten was an avid windsurfer and could be found on the water almost daily. In his later years, he loved golfing, relaxing at the beach, and sharing a laugh with friends and family. To know “Papa C” as he was
affectionately referred to by many, was to know a man full of life, happiness, adventure, and always with a smile on his face. He was the first to crack a joke, share a funny story, or offer a great piece of advice, all of which will be fondly remembered.
Funeral dates for Thailand will be announced at a later date and a private service for family members will be held in Vancouver.
Rest well, Papa C, you will be greatly missed by so many.
