Obituary of Kenneth Giesbrecht
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Giesbrecht on December 9, 2023 following a very short battle with cancer.
Ken was born in Altona, MB on November 29, 1948 as the eldest son of William and Sarah Giesbrecht, with his twin brother Bill being born just 20 minutes later. In 1956 his sister Susan rounded out the family.
Ken had a long life filled with love, family, and friendships. His love of God and family was evident to all who knew him, as was his passion for motorcycles and music. He loved to sing, worship, and extend a helping hand wherever it was needed.
Ken is predeceased by his father William Giesbrecht, his mother Sarah Giesbrecht, and unnamed twin brothers. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, brother Bill Giesbrecht (Ellen), sister Susan Lennox (Craig), son Wes Giesbrecht, daughter Heather King, grandchildren Andrew King (Jessica), M’Lyssa Stegner (Abe), Breyden King (Breanna), and his great-grandchildren Abraham, Aiden, Raymond, McKenna, Kestrel, Leyla, Colby, and Mary, and many, many extended family members, and let’s not forget his vast circle of friends. For Ken there were never strangers, only friends he hadn’t met yet, and he tried to meet them all. It was nothing for him to spend 20 minutes visiting someone in the aisles of Walmart. He had a gift for gab and found every opportunity to use it. His love of life and family will truly be missed by everyone.
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life for Ken on July 13, 2024. More details at a later date.
