Obituary
With sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of William John Shannon on October 16, 2023, at the age of 57 at the Penticton Regional Hospital after his war with cancer. Family held Bill with unconditional love as he peacefully passed.
Bill, an ironworker by trade, owner of S. D. C. Steel, entrepreneur, and lover of food. Bill had a passion and excelled in hockey during his youth, mountain biking, skiing during his days of living in Fernie B.C. as well golf and video gaming with a loyal circle of friends (Wolf Pack). Travelling with family was at the top of his list. Bill had an infectious laugh and loved to sing to his family. He was our Dragon, our Wizard, and our Warrior. He loved with his entire heart and soul.
Predeceased by his father William Robert Shannon (2018); first wife Vian (2003); stepfather Troy (2014); and stepbrother Reece (2012).
Bill is survived by his mother Bonita Ducharme; wife Jennifer Shannon; children from his first marriage: Son Christoper (Kristen) their children Aiden, Kohen, Emma, and Brody; son Dakota; and daughter Shelby (Nathan) and their daughter Vian. Also survived by Bill and Jennifer’s blended children: daughter Kara (Ryan); son Patrick (Olivia) their children Jordan, Hunter, and Nixon; daughter Nicole (Scott) their children Isabella, Kai, and Aspen; daughter Ashley (Bill) their children Jaxon, and Blakely; and son Steven.
Bill is also survived by his sister Sue (Phil) their child Kade; sister Carri (Ray) their children Jess, Kyla, and Ava; Stepbrother Blake; stepsister Robin and her children Maya, Sadie, and Evan.
We shall not forget to mention the many adoring aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews including his lifelong friend Rick MacDonald. They love him dearly.
Bill aka Dad, Dreemz, Papa had a favorite quote…. “Our family chain was broken; things will never be the same. With love God calls us one by one and will link the chain again.”
Bill you are loved forever and will be missed by all. Until we meet again!
