Nicholas Schneider Obituary
Nicholas David Schneider passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the age of 83 years. He will be remembered and sadly missed by his children, Valerie (Ken) Harding of Peachland, Bernie Schneider (Terryl Smetaniuk) of Prince George, and Todd (Debbie) Schneider of Summerland, as well as 4 grandchildren. He is sadly predeceased by his wife, Janette Schneider (Purcha).
Our Father/Grandfather, Nick Schneider, loved his family, being outdoors gardening, fishing, hunting, and building fishponds. He worked hard all his life starting in the bush as a teenager on Vancouver Island logging. He worked on the food car for CP Rail as a waiter and then waited on cars at White Spot. He owned his own barber shop for years in Surrey and worked in a mill in the interior in his later years prior to retirement.
Nick loved to cook, he was famous for his thin pancakes and notably, his gravel chicken (family recipe). He taught us to water ski, snow ski, and enjoy what British Columbia had to offer with yearly family vacations.
Nick loved to joke around and tell stories; he was the life of the party.
Our Father/Grandfather will be missed by everyone who knew him, but we know he’s in a better place right now cracking jokes. We will all have a cold one to his memory!
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2024.
Memorial Tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
