Merle Elizabeth Hendricks Obituary
Mrs. Merle Elizabeth (Robinson) Hendricks passed away suddenly on 11 March, 2024 at the age of 92 years.
She is survived by three sons: Steven, Les (Janice), Robin (Peggy) and two daughters Sharon and Sheila, 21 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Merle was predeceased by her husband Fred, sister Ruth and son Brian (Sandy).
Merle was born and raised in Huntsville, Ontario by her parents Harold Beverly and Mary Beatrice (Graff) Robinson. She was inspired by the poems of Robert Service to travel to the Yukon and obtained her teaching certificate in order to do so. She and Fred met in Whitehorse and were married on 21 July, 1954. After four years in Toronto, they settled in Fort St. John, BC where they raised their family both in town and eventually on a quarter section farm. In 2012, they sold the farm and moved to Penticton, BC.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, 25 May 2024 at the Sandbridge clubhouse, 3333 South Main St, Penticton, BC.
