Lenora Schmidt Obituary
It is with great joy that we announce that Lenora has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed by her son, Alan Schmidt and wife, Wilma of Penticton, and daughter, Valerie and husband, Richard Royer of Penticton. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Gary (Vicki) Schmidt, Laurie (Duncan) Anderson, Danielle (Gordon) Siegrist and Michelle (Scott) Gamble; 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Martha Miller of Chilliwack.
She is now reunited with her husband, Daniel, two sons, Marvin and George, great-grandson, Austin, 3 brothers, one sister and parents in heaven.
She lived her early years in Stony Plain, Alberta and moved to Vernon at the age of 16. She then met her husband, Dan and they spent their married life in many locations around BC, Vancouver, Rogers Pass, Revelstoke, Vernon, Victoria, Surrey and finally Penticton since 1990. Lenora was an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed many hobbies such as crochet, needlepoint, basket weaving and gardening. She served her family and friends with love and care and lived her faith in serving through the church in the ladies group. She enjoyed being with family on fishing vacations and spending the winters in Arizona in retirement. She was always a willing participant in the activities at the Hamlets where she lived for the past 4 years. We would like to thank the staff for their exceptional care especially through the difficult years of Covid.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday August 17, 2024 at 11:00 am at Concordia Lutheran Church at 2800 South Main Street, Penticton. Pastor Michael Schutz and Rev. Scott Gamble will be officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Penticton, BC.
Memorial tributes may be made to the Lutheran Hour Ministries or Canadian Lutheran World Relief or the charity of your choice.
