The family of Karl Parker of Penticton, BC is saddened to announce his passing on November 20, 2023 at the age of 87 years
He is remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife, Isabel; children, Darcy (Tammy) of Bawlf, AB, Karla (Joe) of Penticton, BC, Gary (Kathy) of Penticton, BC, Garth (Tara) of Kamloops, BC; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.
Karl is sadly predeceased by his siblings, Ernest Parker, Harley Parker, Melda Lunn, Amy Vincent, Kenneth Parker and Gwendolyn Milner as well as his parents, Norman Parker and Vera Dauphinee.
Karl was born November 29, 1935 in Three Mile Plains, Windsor, NS. Joining the military in November, 1953 and serving until July, 1986 and then retiring in Penticton with his wife, Isabel.
As a young man, he traveled the world, working as an aero engine tech. He loved watching and playing sports. He was a devoted Montreal Canadiens fan, wearing his jersey while watching the games.
Karl was a member at the Penticton Golf & Country Club for 36 years. He loved the game of golf where he met many great friends.
Along with golf, he played darts and was a great pool/snooker player. He also enjoyed the game of curling, which he played with his daughter for many years.
Karl was always walking. This was a great pastime for him, and he loved walking with his granddog, Maggie.
The family would like to thank the staff at Westview Place South for taking care of dad these past two years.
Dad loved his family and loved family events. He would be the entertainment at most gatherings with his singing and dancing. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
A Memorial Service will be held at Providence Funeral Homes Penticton Chapel at a later date.
